Friends Of Flex 3

Hope you've been staying warm and busy at << Test Organisation >> as we hit June and the winter months ahead.

This is the 3rd edition of 'Friends of Flex'. Our little way of saying thank you with some free tips, advice and industry insights.

Read on below for a big announcement from Facebook and why timing is everything...or is it?

1. NEW - Facebook Shops

For some time now businesses have had the ability to set up shops on Facebook and connect to a 3rd party app like Stripe to sell products.

However Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (pictured above) recently made the announcement that Facebook would be rolling out a fully integrated e-commerce function to be called 'Facebook Shops'.

This new feature will roll out gradually and will allow businesses an easier and more streamlined option to sell online.

If you haven't already, we'd suggest setting up an existing Facebook shop to begin this process.

After doing this, Facebook says that you'll receive an email and a notification on your Facebook Page when your new shop is ready.

In the meantime, here are some other handy articles which might be of interest to learn more about this new feature.

2. Timing is everything

Or is it?

'When is the best time to post?' is a commonly asked question when it comes to social media.

Simply put, there is no definitive answer, but there are some insights that can help you get better at this. Start by going to the 'insights' tab on your Facebook page. Then on the left hand side, click 'posts'. You'll then see a chart at the top which shows when people who like or follow your page are most engaged on Facebook.

(Note* This is in the Pacific Time Zone, so you'll need to convert it to GMT +10)

Generally speaking, anytime between 6:30pm and 9pm is a safe bet for when your audience will be online. Keep in mind though that other businesses are also doing the same, meaning the fight for attention is much higher during this time.

Try positing at different times to see what works best for you. But above all, rule #1 is to make sure your videos, photos and content is engaging in the first place.

If you don't tick that box, nothing else matters.
