Let's Get Political

The past fortnight our national politics has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

As someone who spent close to 4 years as an advisor to a Federal MP and walking the halls of Parliament House, I can tell you that whilst there are certainly aspects of the 'Canberra Bubble' that need to be improved, it's not all bad news.

Particularly when it comes to how your local Council, State or Federal representative can assist your business.

Your local representative on all 3 levels has tools and resources that you might never have considered before to help leverage your business.

These include

  • Business Grants

  • Events

  • Networking

They'll be able to give you a full list of what grants & support is available to businesses of all shapes and sizes, whilst also connecting you into their vast network.

But how do we do this?

It can be easier than you think. Your local representative is always looking for ways to immerse themselves in the business community and is very likely to jump at the chance of visiting your business on site.

An important point to make is not to be afraid of Party politics and which side of the fence your local representative sits on. A good strategy is to make friends on both sides of the aisle as you never know when things will change!

The video above with Cr Hutton and R Jay Electrical is the perfect example of a business putting this into action and meeting with their local rep.

If this is something you'd like help with, to set up and meet with your local representative, just click the link below or reply to this email and we'd be happy to open some doors for you.
